Questions on Parking issues
« on: December 21, 2008, 03:09:53 PM »
Dear all, need your advice on the following:

1. How long does it take to process HDB Season Parking applications? Do I and can I apply for season parking in advance of my vehicle collection date? I do not want a situation where I collect my car from my SE but end up with no season parking for a few days/weeks and have to use coupon all the way.

2. Are HDB/URA carpark rates uniform? I tried to search online but as typical of all govt websites the information cannot be found.

3. I know there are various web resources that can check the carpark rates, but I notice these websites only shows commercial car parks and not HDB/URA car parks. Anyone has a website that lists down all the HDB/URA carparks?

4. Anyone here with advice on cheap/accessible parking at popular leisure places, like orchard area, marina area, etc?

Thanks!

Let me answer u Q1 n Q2..

This is what I will do. Once you collect yr car n logcard, go to HDB to buy your season ticket, they issued it right on the spot. If the time you collect your car cross the office hours, get it done the next day.

Even if you received a fine for parking overnite, they will wavied off.

You can always arrange to collect your car in the morning so that you have time to go buy your HDB season parking....as mentioned by gh05tss, the season parking is issued on the spot one.... :yehyeh:

rgd ur answer to my question 3..yes i'm aware of the two sites but they seem to only show commerical carparks..like for e.g. they do not show the HDB carpark at tamp st 12 like u mentioned..

main purpose of this question is to find cheapest parking at places where i usually goto..and cheapest parking is usually HDB/URA ones..

hmmmm maybe not as detailed...
My conclusion>>
1)  Some time i take it that whenever there is HDB flats>> sure got normal carpark (50cent per 30min one).
2) whenever there is private housing nearby (like upper east coast road, crescent road, etc), i will chiong there to park ==> Outside the houses usuall is Either dotted line or no lines at all (safe to park)
3) Other than yellow lines, try not to park along SINGLE white line too >> illeagal  + $70 fine (i kanna b4).. but no points deducted

1) Once I paid the downpayment, I use the receipt to purchase HDB parking pass and got it on the spot before I collect the car. BUT, it takes one or two days for the RFID system to update, so they told me to display a copy of my season parking receipt on dashboard for one or two days.

If currently you are still holding on to the season parking (for yr old car, if any), you just need to call them out to transfer to the new plate (no need to go down in person).
