Regular service, oil change
« on: December 26, 2008, 10:33:35 AM »
Hi guys, i think tan chong is quite expensive and was stuck in a big jam today outside TC BT. I was thinking that as my free services are already over, is there any reason why i should not service my car outside. any recommendation for good workshops? preferable near sin ming. thanks!

Bro,

My advise is to service with TC until the warranty period is over.

Cheers!

Based on the standard service packages, if one make a value judgement and do price comparison with outside workshops, as well as charges by other car distributors such as Borneo, Kah Motors, Komoco, C&C, etc, one will realise that TCM's pricing cannot really be called expensive. I will say that their pricing is fair and in fact, cheaper than agents such as Komoco (my previous ride was a Hyundai) and Kah Motors.

My experience with TCM is so far very positive, compared with past experience with other makes' agents, I will rate TCM quite highly in terms of service quality. As the previous poster mentioned, best till warranty expire then visit outside workshop.

However, if you really want to save substantially, you have got to visit those cheap sole proprietorship workshops but up to you to decide if that is the best choice for your car.

i just did my 20km with TCM signed up the 2 years npnm - this will last me 2 years until my warranty is over.

If you average it, per servicing = $275 and you get most of the replacement parts free (no aircon filter thou )

my thinking is that if i need to service outside, any problem with car - i will need to go back tcm again for warranty, dun really want so much hazzle. rather do it all during servicing

but i tot i read it somewhere that some of the veterans saying that external workshops , autosaver and Bilanica , are cheaper than TCM....??

i am still on the NPMP .. so cant say much abt external workshops>>>maybe other can comment on the services and pricing better?

I don't see any point in paying more to service your car at Tan Chong if it is not under the Nissan Preventive Maintenance Program. You save at least 30% in servicing your Nissan outside.

Your warranty will NOT be void if you have receipts to prove that your Nissan was serviced at the relevant intervals

You can service your Nissan at these workshops which specialise in Nissans and follow Tan Chong's service check list
