KPE Incident Today
« on: January 16, 2009, 09:53:19 PM »
Dear All,

This afternoon while travelling on the KPE towards Tampines, my Latio went over a spare tyre which was lying on the middle of the lane.

Didn't avoid it as I didn't see it till it was too late. The spare tyre got lodged below the undercarriage between the front wheels. The impact was pretty hard when the spare tyre struck the undercarriage. My question is should I send my car in to TC for them to inspect? Hope somebody can shed some llight on this.

Thanks.

Bro, please please send the car in to TCM to access the damage. Or if you need workshop help, u can call me, i can recommend you.
When you hit spare tyre @ a certain speed, it may cause your front wheels to be out of alighment. Also, your bumper dressing could be damaged. So it's best to go take a look

Of cos, TCM would charge ex, so if u nd recommendations to workshops, i can recommend you my friendly mechanic!
sms me @ 83881237 (:

this kind of thing i suggest go to your trusted workshop will do unless you damaged something. get them to jack up the car and do the inspection. rust proof if necessary.

Any outside workshop will do. Can try Latio boy's contact.

No point sending back to Tan Chong as charges are going to be high.

Thanks all for your kind advices. Just sent my ride to Autosaver this morning. There are several dents to the undercarriage, one part was even torn. The impact must have been very hard.

Do you guys think it is necessary to claim insurance for this repair? My policy has an excess of $500.

I think depends on the cost. If I were you, I would claim if it is more than $1K but do take note it may affect your NCB.

Thanks pal. As a matter of fact, I proceeded to claim my insurance for the repairs  at TC which came out to be $1500.
