Which Brake Pad to use???
« on: April 13, 2009, 12:23:43 AM »
Hi newbies here,

how does the temp specification in the brake pad help in braking??
If driving at 100 - 140kph? which 1 to use?
Thanks

The temp spec. affects its endurance...higher the temp u can brake at high speed frequently..usually 400"C is enough for our Latio
Can try Bendix and Fuji..

used bendix b4, initial grip was superb! but then after 2 hard jam brakings, the grip like not as good. not too sure is it because the pads were burnt?

Some performance brake pads create a lot of brake dust which will 'dirty' your rim. if dun mind then ok.

i've tried stock rotor...was better than normal brake pads den after changed to cross drilled slotted, it became better... I've juz changed to a brand called Fuji, my mechanic says its the same as bendix metal king except that it can last much more longer..

Using Asuki japanese brake pads now. Damage $70 with install. My high temp ones gone!! after less than 3 months!! And i bloody paid $150 for those. Was good initially also, super dust producer, got sqeaky sounds, and best of all, gone in under 3 months....

Change both front and rear brake pad at AS last week.
Now there is a tick tick sound from the drum brake during braking, went back to AS and they say this is normal as new brake pad is uneven and sound would go away once the wear and tear set it.

True? :confused1:
