Servicing Frequency for low usage OPC owners

Dear All,

My ride is OPC n due to my low usage on it, my mileage currently is only about 8.3K (car is now 2 yrs++ old).  My last servicing was done about 1yr ago (5K servicing) n I am still on Mineral Oil.

Should I hold till my mileage hit 10K or should I send in asap (I remember my last 5K servicing, the mechanics paste a sticker stating next service period is either 3mths or 10K)

I have been asking around, some told me usually OPC owner will peg their servicing session to time period (ie. Mineral Oil 3 mths, syn oil 6mths) while there r others whom told me to only send it in based on the mileage achieved.

Any Advice?

There could be chemical change in the composition of the engine oil over time which may not perform its primary task of protecting and lubricating the engine as well as new oils. So if i am you i will send it in for servicing. Not expensive right?

Hi Bro,

   I am using Amsoil 5w30 and although mine is not a weekend car, my mileage is also very low.

This oil can tahan extended life and I flush one year once......save money

Last time when i was ridin my bike usin 20W50 Amsoil i change oil every 2 yrs or 20,000km i found that whenever i just change fresh oil the engine does not feel very smooth but as i keep travellin i can feel the engine gets smoother & smoother esp when the oil has been used for more than 10k... Wonder izzit the same applies for 0w30 or 5w30?

I'm also a low usage OPC owner. I'm still go for servicing every 6 months
Not sure if this is a waste or can I just change the engine oil ?
