getting 13+ km/l Singapore roads/expressways

if going at 70 kph with no air-con almost fully highway I would think that the winner will be achieving something like 23 km/l

I did a trip to Damai Laut some years back with a Sunny manual-drive, headlights (safer for other motorists to see you) and air-con on all the way and travelling at 110 kph on highway and then through country roads to get to destination and got 16+ km/l

I think possible. The challange path is mostly on highway.

Just remember the rules of fuel saving
1) Don't heavy foot. (Keep between 1000RPM to 2000RPM at ALL time.)
2) Plan your journey. Don't press the brake or stop too often. Best if you can keep the speed between 80km/h to 90km/h.
3) Put aircon temperature at 26 degrees or turn it off if you think possible.

Whole journey estimate around 500km++. With your fuel consumption of 13km/l...you need around 38.5 litters of fuel. I think our latio got at least 40 litter tanks, isn't it?

Actually, if you go NSH and drive at 70, I bet everyone can get at least 16-18km/h. I mean, its just non-stop highway. Most of the people getting good FC here mainly refine their city driving techniques to get good FC. With 100% Highway, the results should be pretty close.

Totally agree.

I try before. Drive around 90km/h all the time, use half tank but can drive around 350km++ on NSH.

I get 13~14km/l from KL to Singapore lately after using fasflo over 5000km. If I drive at 80~100km/l can get 16km/l.

Need to service the car first, change to tyre that have less rolling resistance (stock Toyo?), window up, aircond off for 4 hour slow drive on NSHW... dont think I want to do it. IMO, Latio is for comfort, what's the point to prove that it can get 20+km/l but you have to suffer a lot to get it?

;D...it is for people who enjoy the fun.

For me, getting better FC everytime is more of a game, fun and addicting. Most of my driving are done w/o AC, and on Singapore expressway, 80-90km/h. I opened the windows a little la, and its not very uncomfortable. I guess its the same reason I sleep at night without AC, I dun feel there's a need to so I dun waste the money.

But of course, if you're like my gf, who can't sleep without AC, den this FC challenge will be a torture to you. For me, I'm used to it already, so this thing should turn out quite fun for me. I get secretly excited when I visit the petrol pump and calculate my FC after each tank!  :D
