additonal i key
« on: June 20, 2009, 12:37:37 AM »
Hi All,

Can i get an additonal IKEY if the original is not with me ? I understand that new codes would be programmed in it but if i do so then will the old IKEY be rendered useless ?

I still wan my dad to have access to the car when he wants to use it.

Thanks in advance

Pass him the key that is in the ikey so that he can still use it.If not order 1 new ikey from TCM then they will program until both ikey can be use...

pass your dad the spare key and you use the ikey. no need to get additional ikey. can save up money for other things
cheers

Our latio can use up to 5 ikey. Get a new iKey from TCM and ask them add the new ikey into your car keyless system. and don't remove the old ikey entry from it. that's it. mind to tell how much TCM cost you for additional ikey?

Hmm.. i think he would be in deep ******** if his IKEY runs out of battery, i would still suggest he go and made one. Without a backup "key" i feel rather insecure.

You can make duplicate another mechanical key and keep it as spares. I have two Ikeys and one additional mechanical key with my dad

Always thought the the programming is done only at the i-key where there is a PCBA and a battery
As for the mechanical key, I did not see any PCBA or battery, so how to sent signal?  :confused1:
