anybody got this experience?
« on: October 16, 2009, 09:05:18 PM »
Hi bros, after i done my 20k servicing at TC ubi, i made a 2nd visit back to them again because of wheel alignment problem - car veering to the left.

so i thought, okay fine, let them fix it up. I was quite certain i have sent in the car with full tank with about 50km travelled... so the horror came when they told me my car was ready to be collected at 5pm (near closing time). the moment i sat at the cockpit and took a look at the dashboard, 1/4 tank petrol gone and 20km travelled.

any bros faced this problem? it appears to be outright pilferage to me but there's no way i could have substantiated this because they didn't put a marking on the jobsheet (i.e the "receipt" they issued me on the first instance).

Anyways i am quite shocked that 20km travelled can use up 1/4 tank or 10L of petrol. Has anyone faced this problem of getting pilfered by workshop (tcm or outside) before and what did you guys do?  :crying:

Lesson learnt: never send the car in on a full tank the next time. just to share my experience with the bros out there - a little petty i know, but theft is theft no matter what the quantum may be.  :(

Bro,

Veering to the left i also encounter.
Rotate back the tyre.
Or change a new set of tyre.

10 Km for road test sound funny to me.
May be your fuel guage got problem.

But wheel problem, trust me.
either u rotate back or change new tyre.

hope it help.

i thought for wheel alignment, they have to put the wheels on some machine and let it run, then after they drive out for a road test before handing over the car to customer. And when they are servicing / repairing your car they leave your engine on most of the time even though they may be doing other things which may not require the engine to be on to perform the task. Also, i believe the technician do not work on your car continuously, they may go off somewhere doing other things also. Hence mileage run usually does not tally with amount of petrol used.

Not finding excuse for TCM but the above is what i thought of. I jus done my servicing few weeks ago... and for that tank of petrol, i run about 100km less. I got a shock also. Maybe u can try feedback to TCM and see what they say....

Whenever I go for a servicing, they will mark down your fuel level on the service form. We are worrying that they will not be honest in the fuel level, but at the same time, they will also afraid that we 'cheat' on it. As a big corporate, they will not do something that spoilt their reputation for such minor things.

Didn't they mark your fuel level on the service form ? Since there is a discepancy, did you sound out to them ? Listen to their explanation.

20km on 10 litres of petrol translates to 2km/l.

Even a Ferrari F430, even if redlined would return better mileage.
