Fuel Guage not accurate
« on: August 08, 2010, 11:38:33 PM »
Hi,

My fuel guage is indicating 3/4 while i have filled up my tank till the brim.
Anybody know the price for replacing the fuel sensor or sender unit and which workshop?
My warrant had expired, therefore need to find an affordable workshop for repairing. :(

Thanks.

if new car under warranty go to TCM workshop. If it is a used car then send to a workshop to check is there a button to switch the meter to 3/4.

Hi, i have pump till the rim and fuel guage indicate 3/4.
The meter goes down gradually as i drove to empty tank.
I pump the tank with petrol to rim again and it only need 25 litre.
I think the sender unit might have some problem.
Does anyone know the cost for repairing?

If still under warranty, TCM will replace FOC. I just got my FOC replacement just a few weeks back.

It's quite interesting to see fellow forumers giving advice without really reading thru the whole post. It's quite obvious that there is no more warranty for his ride, his typo is a little like short cut sms in some words but still can be deciphered.

Go to the workshop in Toh Guan, I think it's Autoaid. They seems to be quite well versed in our ride. I've never been there myself but will most probably use them for my next service. www.autoaid.com.sg, one brother have even replaced his aircon there.  http://forum.thelatioclub.org/index.php?topic=10648.0

I had the same issue. Quoted $400+ for the unit. Did not change, decide to live with the problem and judge using the milege.

My Latio fuel gauge drops quite suddenly, one minute it could be at the full mark then it could suddenly drop between the full and 3/4 tank mark. Also same for the last 1/4 and empty mark....incidentally my top up fuel always comes up after 380km travel. I think its very poor FC for a car.
