yes,correct,that is what i mean.For some cars is handbrake.

Correct, what I meant is all along I have been doing is shift to P before depress foot brake, that explain why sometimes morning I having difficulties in engaging from P to D. That why I sheeesh after reading your explanation.

Until now then I saw your correct method.  :ohmy:
What I wish to ask is, have I damaged the gearbox or the safety device?  :confused1:
Can the safety device alone be changed if it really spoils, or must change whole gb?
