Look under your car. Do you see any power steering fluid leakage.Should have nothing to do with your new GR80 tyres.I would advise you to send your car to Tan Chong for a free diagnosis since it is under warranty.
Hello guys,Recently, I realize this Steering noise if i do a fast 200 to 250degree turning on the Steering when I park my car.... May be is coz of my 4 new GR80 tyres side effect?Anyone? Thanks in advance.Regards.
Not your rubber la....it your Steering Wheel...go to TCM and tell them there's noise when you turn...On Off it happen...I bet 90% sure that it cause by the cable within the Steering Wheel..it happens to me.
Hi gui gei see. Cable within the Steering Wheel?how is the impact? good & bad impact?Regards.
Hi clarence Thanks for info. Can I drive in without booking/appointment just for a quick achoc check? The noise is not frequent.Regards.
I also have this noise, thought is the steering coupling. sian.
i oso hear noise when reverse parking. TCM said the factory should have removed that noise and they replaced something for me. but now the noise is getting worse.
I also have the same problem as Gui Ge. Cable within the steering wheel loose. Went TCM to have it rectified. But I think yours may be considered "normal" by TCM. The reason for saying that is that when I brought my car to TCM on the steering wheel noise, the noise sounds like rubbing sound. I could hear the sound even if I turn the steering slowly, such as going up or coming down MSCP. During the testing by TCM technician, he identified the problem within minutes. However, he highlighted to me that the motor sound is normal if we were to turn the steering fast, which he demonstrated by turning the steering to the limit (i.e. more than your 200-250 degrees). Since you hear the sound only if you turn the steering fast, then TCM will say it is normal. Took them quite long. Appointment time at 9.30 am and ready for collection only at 2 pm. They said quite complicated because they have to dismantle parts (-- may be smoke me only). Do share with us if TCM tells you the same thing. Thanks.
mine when turning also got sound.Went to TCM and got the steering coil change. Not no sound liao
Tan Chong has this reputation for always saying "It's normal" when you highlight fault parts to them during warranty period. I've read about so many forumers complaining about this.
That's a good sign. I hope Tan Chong improves on its service.I think it also depends on which service centre you went to and the service advisor who attended to you.Which service centre did you go to?
My steering wheel a bit misalign. Do I have to get it done before Vicom check? And also, when I turn my steering fast, i do hear some noise like fabric rubbing each other.
