I also got tok tok sound.  Just went TCM last saturday and was told no stock.  Got to wait 10 weeks (wah lau eh.... more than 2 months leh).  Must be seriously short of the part man.  That guy said safety not compromised, just sound only.  Dunno how true.

Hi Jazz,

Looks like you got to go down twice, since they got no stock.  Really sian.  When stock arrive, still must go there and wait a couple of hours.

I went Toa Payoh last saturday.  Thought of calling BT to see if it has stock so that I don't have to wait so long.

Stock is usually held at Toa Payoh branch.. if one branch is out.. all the rest will be too.. mine is on back order.

Wait to do?  Sigh.  Today called up that guy.  He claimed that the new stock coming are the "improved" ones which will last longer.  Unlike the previous batch where it gives problem again within a few months.  If so, perhaps worth the wait and hope that it can last longer.

Hi Jazz,  Just an update.  TCM called me to say stock arrived liao and no need to wait till next year.  Had changed it already.  Now no more that irritating tok tok sound, feel going up and down MSCP smoother and more comfortable.

Dear all,

Does anyone has any update on this subject matter? I realised my steering got this tok tok sound when turning. Read from here that Latio is plagued with this steering tok-tok problem.

Does TC use the "improved version" of the coupling now?

Thanks.

I think your problem seems a little different (and more serious) from what most of us here are experiencing. Our tok tok sound comes when we turn our steering, for e.g maneuvering in MSCP or parking etc. It is just the sound and nothing else. But yours come with loss of power. Better send in to TCM to check...

In fact your description fits what my colleague is experiencing with his honda city. He send in to KM and they ask him to change the whole CVT gearbox = 10k approx?  *sweat*
