I think your problem seems a little different (and more serious) from what most of us here are experiencing. Our tok tok sound comes when we turn our steering, for e.g maneuvering in MSCP or parking etc. It is just the sound and nothing else. But yours come with loss of power. Better send in to TCM to check...

In fact your description fits what my colleague is experiencing with his honda city. He send in to KM and they ask him to change the whole CVT gearbox = 10k approx?  *sweat*

10K ?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! any warrenty for this thng? if its free and i m under warrenty then i shall go asap! but it got nthng t do w my changing of spring or any mod rite? but cause it doesnt happen, all e time. so i duno will they b able t find out.

I am not a veteran is this ah, but if it is under warranty, faster send in to TCM to check. I just bought a used latio and after driving for few days, i already single out all the problems and I already made appointment to send my car in tomorrow. Mine got 1 year warranty left.

If you got mod your car.... i dunno.... I first time buy nissan car... dunno TCM lenient a not

Ok, i got some common problems (as with other Lations) like steering coupling spoil (tok tok sound when turning), aircon not cold even i set to 23 degrees, rattling sound from dash board.

Other problems like coolant below half marking (which i dunno how it happen coz the prev owner send it in for servicing at 38k and when i bought over the car it is only 41k.

The most headache thing is that the audio unit is spoilt!!! CD stuck inside cannot eject!!! TC says the audio unit warranty over and there will be charges, and need to send to Japan to repair!

I also think it is a bit "kua zhang" to send it to japan to repair for the audio unit....how much does tat stuck CD cost?? If it is not very expensive, then not worth it at all..... ::)
If you r not part of a solution, don't be part of the problem...

SO many things seem filled with intent to be lost that their loss is no disaster...

I'm another victim of this tok tok sound during parking. I will consolidate all the problems (steering coupling, dashboard rattling, changing of rim) during my 5K service. Wonder whether one day can get it done?

depending on the repair cost, the dealer who sold me the car will pay for it.

alternatively he prposed buy a new Kenwood HU n he pay half the cost. but my CD changer at the back is JVC one leh.. like that can work?

Can someone give some suggestions? Or recommend a reliable audio shop to rectify the  problem?

I just sent car in to TC BT.
For the steering coupling part, they have no stock so need to wait...
For those sound related issue,u need to be with the mechanic go for test drive n test together. if lucky, can solve in one day..

Can I check with those who faced steering coupling problem which I believe I am facing now.

Does the TOK TOK sound occur specifically only at slow speed, eg when you are moving off and you turn left/right, and when parking your car, and you turn the steering wheel?

Your problem same as mine...

got the problem when car was 1mth old !!! :crying:  hilited the problem to TC during 1K servicing...they jz lubricate, hilited again during 5K ...told by them part rectified not replace., within an hour came back again... Called TC and informed them this was not accpetable., ask me to make appt to chg the part. Now ok...but still hv very slight tok tok sound and steering wheel position is not centre when car is straight ( shoody workmanship). Now car 8mths old...jz  wait till next servicing to make the steering centre.

IMO either the coupling got design problem or not fixed properly during installation.
Jz that i had chg countless steering couplings during my ns time as veh mech.

ya, mine very obvious when slow turn and parking. Changed mine 6 months ago, the problem come back again. Going to make noise to TCM next week to rectify all my problem:

1) Steering coupling
2) Engine belt/dashboard/door noise
3) Car body slant to right side
4) Windscreen solar firm bubble
5) During slow moving especially traveling over immigration checkpoint, got this 'oooo' sound.

Mine already changed 4 times from under warranty till now no more warranty still changing..

Each time they tell me not enough lubricant at the joint..
One day, I got fed up of same explanation and scolded the manager in front of all nissan drivers..

Simply scolded if the lubricant wear out so fast then you guys must have put very little in the first place.
Is the the service TC is providing..

But after much checking, they decided to change the sterrling joint and coupling..
Very disappointed with Nissan cars..

No more Nissan cars for me..

So after they changed the parts did the problem come back?
