Jerky feeling when moving off from stationary or slow speed

--- Quote from: zzyzx on January 07, 2009, 10:44:26 PM ---whatever it is, i hope it's not the gearbox acting up. i drove a CVT lancer before i got my 4AT latio. CVT is just not reliable to me. but the nissan's should be more robust than the mitsubishi's (i think).

Gearbox acting up? This is the last thing i want it to happen. But if it has to happen, better happen now because still got 1 year warranty left. Sigh...
Can't help wondering where has the reliability of Jap car gone to. My previous Korean make whack until jialat jialat stil surviving no problem. Latio only 2 years old so many problems. Got it only 3 weeks ago (2nd hand) and found so many problems including the well-known steering coupling problem.

actually korean made cars (or maybe some only?) are actually built better than some jap cars in some way.
i was so surprised to see my friends's kia cerato has got the hard foam thing in between the front bumper and the metal beam to minimise damage during front collision while my previous lancer doesn't has it. my lancer's metal seems to be weaker also.
i'm glad that the latio has got what i expected. metal also harder. cos i notice the rest of the older latios in my mscp dont have dent cause by other ppl opening their doors. haha...

mmm... hard to comment on the reliability since its a 2nd hand car, cos we never know what the 1st driver did to the car. Anyway, keep complaining to TC abt the problems faced by ur Latio, TC will act upon it - just persist abit... :D

I notice that the metal for Latio could be harder also because the door closes with a firm thud. But sound proofing is very terrible. On rainy days, especially heavy rains, the tits and tats from the roof... if you know what i mean.... worse than my previous Getz!

Ok, trying not to drift away from the intended topic...
I will definitely persist, cos i am not going to live with this jerkiness for another 3, 4 years.... hopefully can be resolved.
I will continue to update when i have new findings on this problem. Anyone who has any info to share pertaining to this problem, continue to contribute.
