ying, u missed my pt again.

i agree that autosaver's $908 is not cheaper than TCM's $800 when u are buying their cars. but my point is, the way the agent is putting across to potential buyers can be misleading. i was sharing my experience with others here that the buying price of the car may have the $800 NPMP factored in it already. So if the agent tell you that there is a 2yr NPMP with it, you know that you are actually paying for it. Even if it is free, the buyer can request to opt out for it in exchange for a reduction in the car price

So for those who may not know, they can always ask their agent to deduct $800 from the car's buying price so they have a lower buying price for whatever the reasons can be. Some like me when i bought my Sunny (my first car 4 years ago) may not know about this. It was actually my sales agent who asked me if i really need the NPMP. The hint is so obvious.

after 2 yrs, perhaps the economy is better, so one can better afford the rate? nobody knows. so for me, i look at what i have at present, reduce the loan amount and interest and decide after 1.5yr later. For others they may have their favourite mechanic or workshop so they prefer to go outside. When my NPMP ended, I'm seriously contemplating to find other workshops. But i have no good lobangs. Anyway i dun find TCM mechanics that wonderful. Now with my lousy experiences with TCM, i'm beginning to feel fortunate tat i did not take the NPMP.

My info may inform them of the possible choices regarding NPMP. Different people have different wallet size. So while you can afford to let the banks earn extra interest on the $800, some people cant. So my earlier postings merely share my experiences.

For those who insist on TCM services, u can always go across our friendly neighbour ETCM to do ur servicing.. I did my 30k servicing over there, the S.A recommended me to do a engine flush, injector clean + fuel addictive package & tyre rotations i ended up paying S$100 for the entire servicing...

package A can lah, package C for CVT need special arrangement. The oil and spare part source are diff. TCM malaysia use more Malaysian product. TCM here mostly Japan product. Malaysia Latio is dun have CVT version.

I just called Tan Chong and Auto Saver to clarify the prices.

Latio uses platinum spark plugs.

Auto Saver
$168 for 4 spark plugs + $30 labour = $198

Tan Chong
$100 for 4 spark plugs + $130 labour = $230

So Auto Saver is still cheaper.

Or can buy spark plug from Tan Chong and bring to Auto Saver to install.   ;D

may be AS know you better thus lowering the labour cost for you. IMO, if you going to drive the car for long time then sign the 2 yrs package is better. Change spark plug also cheaper. TCM's package include part and labour;  AS's package at least include the labour cost.

IF you want to change spark plug, it is more logical to change at service maintenance intervals where
normally they wont charge labour.  I belive if you specially just drop in and change spark plug, definitely they going to charge u a bomb.

Yo, go for TCM NPMP best.

What's the advantage of TCM NPMP 2 year package over AS's?
The price are not competitive enough leh?

when taking NPMP, do consider the following that is not cover under warranty but cover under NPMP.

time chain: normally last around 50k
brake pad: last around 50 - 60k
spark plug: 90 -100k
brake shoe: 90 - 100k

ensure you are covered within these range.  If not taking single service at AS is better.
My last 80k service with AS using own engine oil cost me $181.
