Engine Oil 10W50
« on: January 15, 2009, 11:05:12 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have gotten 2 bottles of 10W50 recently. Is it too thick for latio? Mine is Latio Sedan. If unsuitable, can you introduce me a good brand and location to buy with the model to be bought?

Also, just bring 4 litres will do? I am going for 10k Servicing soon. Thanks bros.

hi!

think 10w50 is way too thck liao. i am using 5w40 and the TCM officer was saying it is more for 1.8l and above. but still ok to use on latio. if u use it, think will make ur car 'retarded' and ur fc may be affected as ur engine may b struggling.

In fact, sometime less than 3L, TCM uses 3 bottles of my own Amsoil which is 1 bottle about 0.967L. After a month I sent for wheel alignment, I kiasu ask the SE to check for me whether my EO is enough, he do it on the spot and check my dip stick, still on the high side and the oil is still very clean. Surprisingly.

3.3 litre (including oil filter)

3.1 litre (excluding oil filter)
Be safe. Go with the flo.
