Fuel for thought
pchmj:
How to clock such high km/l in congested areas? Sometimes I see the figure of others, calculate my own, then wonder why. Even if I drive at rpm max 2.2k, I can't achieve that... only in NSH, I can rev all I want and get good FC.
SoL:
I would say such a competition with a mix of city and highway driving is much better than Nissan's NSH challenge. Maintaining throttle position for a few hundred km is easy, but city driving really tests your techniques. The results will differ greatly among competitors. Those who know their cars well, efficient acceleration, cruising distance, traffic lights timing, they will definitely have the advantage.
Silver:
will be good to know the figures for "urban cycle" and "extra-urban cycle" and also the actual "city" and "highway" driving
see http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/information/fuel-consumption-testing-scheme.asp for test procedures
