for the benefits of those who go jb pump petrol...

my personal experience:
half tank still pass custom check, as i did got check by custom officers when my needle is at half tank, he let me pass...  so customs officers are quite reasonable...

usually at half tank i only pump abt 20L

once again, a call to all latios who pump petrol in jb, we can go in together, I live in bishan, so those nearby can go together... pump petrol, eat a bit supper, or go massage...

those interested can pm me, thx

hi z

i thk that chap never know the 'risk', i heard to pump little bit like that got explosion risk? due to the spark (if any?)

aiya, i thk he forgot to use one skill called "推" i.e. to push (goyang) the car... then he can sqiz to 51 litre for his Latio? :)

Penny wise pound foolish in trying to save a few cents by squeezing in petrol to the brim, only to have petrol leak out and expose yourself to risk as there've been cases of robbers coming from behind when you are distracted pumping petrol and rob you.

Reserve tank is 5 litres but not worth the risk as too low petrol level in your tank can damage your fuel pump which costs a few hundred dollars to replace.

I was referring to the fuel pump in your Latio.

If not how is your petrol going to flow if there is no pump? Cannot depend on gravity for petrol to flow out.  :D

bro,
for a fuel line system, we got fuel filter, fuel pump to transfer the fuel to the injector and those tubing for supply and return....sometime for those old car, the fuel filter needs to be change just like air/oil filter....

Aftermarket product like fuel regulator etc etc is to regulate the pressure of supply line...

Latio is not worth to pump in JB as the top 1/4 tank cannot take in much petrol - 10 litres at most.

When the fuel indicator is at the bottom 1/4 mark, I can pump in only 32 litre of petrol, which means the bottom 1/4 tank is holding on to 18 litres of petrol.

I second this information ... last week i just went in and had my tank filled to a 3/4 first, +/- 1 % from the gauge, then i pump another time to make sure that I have 3/4 after the traveling from SengKang to 2nd Link (woodlands jam from onemotoring)

the differences is only about another 12 dollars, which is about 5+litres

I usually will drive till reserve light up and  most of my fillup is about 38 litres

so technically we have about 7 litres of reserve but please bear in mind that the design usually have about 2 litres of buffer and our fuel pump will have difficulty draining the remaining 2 litres, thus we will be only able to travel for about another 4-5 litres.  ;D

but i seldom do that as I do not want to stop my car waiting for help ...

sometime aga aga can liao la...that extra will not save that much...

just felt that if going in just to pump petrol cannot save much lor ...

if going in for some agenda and "shun pian" pump then is ok ... no need to push or pump slowly one ar ... cant save much...  :bleh:

anyway, they must have their own reasons to do that kinda trick to maximizes their pump, maybe got a big house to service? got 2 wifes? kekee ... :devil2:
